Jason Davis was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and spent seven years inside marketing agencies before starting Makarios Marketing. He kept seeing the same two problems: employees treated as billable hours, and clients sold work that never showed up in their revenue. He thought he could do it better, with a focus on the local service industry, the businesses he understands best, because that is where the right SEO turns directly into calls and booked jobs.
He named the agency Makarios, the Greek word for blessed that Jesus uses to open the Sermon on the Mount, because it says what he wants to be true for every client, employee, and business in the community that works with us. It is also why Makarios refuses long-term contracts that lock you in, which is how most of the owners who call us were burned before, and never guarantees rankings. Once the research shows where the opportunities are, we are confident we can win them, and we let the results keep the client.
Jason grew Makarios mainly on TikTok, posting an SEO video every day for three years as Jason the SEO Guy, showing business owners how local search actually works. He still runs every strategy call himself, and his goal is simple: to become one of the best SEO people in the space, and to build the agency he wished he had worked for.
